Parking & Trail Permit(MUST READ): |
Camanche Lake charges $7 a car(Please have exact change or a check) and runners must park at Coyote Flat Campground. No parking at the Trailhead for runners! Race Permit requires this. It is only a 1/8 mile walk from parking to start/finish. This fee allows full day use of Camanche Lake(this includes showers at campgrounds). Runners will also have to purchase either a one day($2.50) or yearly($10) trail pass. The yearly pass is good for all Est Bay Municipal Utility District Trails(including Bay Area). I recommend supporting EBMUD and purchasing a yearly pass. The pass will require you to fill in information about the passholder. All runners must sign in at the trailhead as well.
As per trail permit and race permit, NO runners(and that includes sweeps) are allowed on the trail either before sunrise or after sunset. NO EXCEPTIONS! You will be cut if you will fail to finish before the 12 1/2 hr cutoff.
|
Aid Stations: |
Provided approximately every 2.3-8.3 miles, well stocked with HEED, water,
Coke, chips, cookies, potatoes, Hammergel, E-caps, bars, candy, P&J's. Soup will be at Campo Seco(Mile 39). Restrooms
located at start/finish, Campo Seco, and Middle Bar Takeout(50 Mile turnaround) aid stations. |
Trail Etiquette : |
This is a multi use trail with hikers and horses(no bikes). Please beware and pay attention when approaching horses as not to spook them and injury either the rider or horse. Please use courtesy out there with fellow users. Please read the trail instructions on the course map |
Ticks(and Lyme Disease): |
Please beware that this area does have ticks and some have been found to have had Lyme Disease. We will have a tick removal kit at each aid station and the finish line. Please read this flyer. It contains very useful information regarding ticks and there proper removal. Improper removal can cause ticks contents to be injected into person. |
Litter : |
Please dispose of trash at any aid station that you might have. Please don't make our sweeps be garbage men and have to cleanup after you. |
Course Marking: |
The course will be marked with hot pink flagging. There are also many trail markers(posts) showing you the direction of the trail and where not to go. |
Gates and Road Crossing: |
This trail runs through cow pastures and thus has numerous gates that must be opened and closed. PLEASE close all gates after you pass through! They are there for a reason. There is one road(two lane) crossing on the trail just before(and after) the Camp Seco Aid Station. You will have to use a gate to leave the trail to cross the road and pass through another after crossing the road. There is a second road(one lane country road) crossing at the Gwen Mine Aid Station as well. Please stop and look both ways for passing cars. They will be moving at high speeds! |

Aid Station/Mileage Charts & Cutoffs: |
Check out the aid stations and mileage between them as well as cutoffs at the Chart. There is a 8.3 mile section without aid so it is recommended that all runners carry at least two water bottles.
|
Drop bags and Crew Access: |
Runners can have a small drop bag at Campo Seco Aid Station(mile 12.4/39). It must be of reasonable size and weight. Anything deemed too large or too heavy by race staff will not be transported to aid station and left at start/finish. Check out the crew access points at the Aid Station Chart.
